The barter system is one of the oldest forms of trade. The idea is based on one good or service traded for another equally valued trade or service. In my father’s work community there are about ten small businesses. His community is strongly rooted in the barter system in that everyone helps each other out in an “I do for you, you do for me” fashion. It leads to progress within the community and bonds based on trust rather than currency. This project was about relationships and the greatest lesson I learned was to simply have faith in other people.
